Hermès uses some of the best fabrics and construction which is the reason to the very high pricepoints. Everything from the fabrics to the finishings are beyond exceptional and this type of quality can be only found at Hermès.
This season, Véronique Nichanian took inspiration from ski-wear and applied luxurious fabrics to traditional pieces. The most interesting fabric treatment was the “leather corduroy” which was used in a pair of leather pants and a bomber jacket. The corduroy is actually a ribbed nubuck lambskin which I believe is sheared and then stamped to create the corduroy wale effect. As always, Hermès used some of the most luxurious fabrics in the world; bark colored mink in a reversible turtleneck with cashmere flannel and chiffon crocodile in a navy cardigan. Some other pieces which stood out were the peacoat in chrome black reversible astakhan, the parka in the chalk colored shearling and the quilted crewneck sweatshirt in flannel cashmere broadcloth. All of the finishings were Hermès branded and featured the signature “H” on all buttons and zippers.
