Italian Corduroy – Velluto Duca Visconti Di Modrone

A few weeks ago, I picked up a pair of olive green corduroy pants from Beretta, an Italian sporting store, and I can’t seem to stop wearing them. The fabric is fairly unusual as it composes of 76% cotton, 22% nylon and 2% lycra. It is no surprise I am addicted to my stretchy pants. The pants have a high rise and a fairly chunky wale making them extremely comfortable. They also contain a zippered compartment within the right side pocket, great for putting loose bills in. The pants were fairly reasonably priced as the quality of the fabric and construction are quite high.

If you ever see the label pictured above, you know you are getting a quality fabric.  Velluto Duca Visconti Di Modrone is the “go-to” corduroy for Italian manufacturers and is the choice for many bespoke tailors.  The Italian mill mostly weaves 100% cotton corduroy and velvet.

Definitely check out Beretta if you are in the New York City area. They carry an array of unusual brands and the quality of their products are extremely high.  (Also visit them if you are in the market for a high-end shotguns.)

Steezy Protest

Forget Occupy Wall Street, this is how you protest. Especially when the target is Abercrombie & Fitch and the planned location for its new store at No. 3 Savile Row in London (which was once the home of the Beatles’ Apple Record Store.
